These early access notices explain how CounterFact handles data and how the service may be used. They are written for the current self-serve product. Organizations that need enterprise terms, a data processing agreement, private deployment, security review, or regulated-data handling should contact CounterFact before use.

Privacy

Early access privacy notice

This notice explains how CounterFact handles account information, uploaded data, connected data, generated outputs, and product activity in the current early access product. Contact us before using CounterFact with sensitive, regulated, confidential enterprise, or contract-restricted data that requires custom handling.

Information we collect

We collect account and workspace information needed to operate the service, including name, email address, workspace membership, sign-in activity, verification status, usage limits, product events, support requests, and operational logs.

Uploaded data and generated outputs

When you provide data to CounterFact, we store the uploaded or connected data as needed to create mappings, previews, candidate-policy assignments, evaluation runs, diagnostics, and reports. Uploaded data may include files, tables, extracts, or other structured data sources supported by the product.

Raw uploaded data is retained according to your workspace plan. On Starter, raw uploaded data is currently retained for 14 days. After raw data is deleted by retention, related metadata, mappings, run records, assignments, diagnostics, and completed reports may remain so prior evaluations can be understood. Actions that require the original data may require re-upload.

How we use data

We use service data to provide CounterFact, run evaluations, secure the product, troubleshoot issues, prevent abuse, enforce usage limits, support users, and improve reliability. We do not sell user data. We do not use uploaded customer data to train public models.

Access and support

CounterFact staff may access account, workspace, uploaded-data metadata, mappings, run records, generated outputs, logs, and support messages when needed for support, reliability, security, debugging, billing, compliance, or abuse prevention. Staff access to raw uploaded data is limited to operational need.

Email and product notices

We use email for sign-in verification, account support, security notices, product notices, usage-limit messages, and operational communications.

Deletion requests

To request account, workspace, uploaded-data, or generated-output deletion, contact [email protected]. Some limited records may be retained when required for security, legal, billing, audit, or abuse-prevention purposes.

Terms

Early access terms

These terms govern use of the current CounterFact early access product. Organizations needing enterprise terms, a data processing agreement, private deployment, security review, or regulated-data handling should contact us before use.

Your data and responsibilities

You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to upload, connect, process, or evaluate data in CounterFact. Minimize, de-identify, aggregate, or anonymize data before use whenever possible. Do not upload prohibited, regulated, highly sensitive, or third-party-restricted data unless CounterFact has agreed to that handling in writing.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service, bypass limits, interfere with other users, probe or attack the system, upload malicious content, violate laws, or use CounterFact for harmful, deceptive, discriminatory, or unauthorized activity.

Starter access and limits

Starter workspaces may have limits on users, uploads, storage, retention, concurrent runs, completed runs, and available features. We may change limits, pause access, suspend accounts, remove abusive activity, or discontinue early access features as the product evolves.

Evaluation results

CounterFact provides decision-support analysis. Results are not a guarantee that a policy is correct, fair, legal, compliant, unbiased, or suitable for production. You are responsible for reviewing results, validating assumptions, checking legal and operational requirements, and deciding whether to deploy any policy or process change.

Service availability

CounterFact is an early access product and may change, pause, degrade, or become unavailable. We may modify features, reports, limits, retention periods, and supported data formats over time.
